Monthly Meeting Minutes I March 11, 2024
The monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cedar Lake was held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Cedar Lake Town Hall in Mikana. Present was Ken Leners, Chairman, Maryhelen Drew, Clerk, Gladys Roux, Treasurer. Attending by phone was Kory Weiss, Supervisor and Mary Hele, Supervisor. There were 21 other persons present. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes were read from the February meeting. These minutes were approved by Ken and seconded by Mary. All approved, Ken,yes: Kory, yes: Mary, yes.
PUBLIC INPUT: None
FINANCIAL REPORT: Gladys gave the financial report. The report showed that all accounts were balanced with the bank as well as the clerk.
ROAD REPORT: At this time, waiting to pull the weight limit signs. Kory went over the order for signs this spring with Scott, who will get them ordered.
SPECIAL PROJECTS COMMITTEE: No further information at this time.
BFCESD REPORT: As there has not been a meeting since our last meeting, there is nothing to report at this time.
OLD BUSINESS; UPDATE: Ken spoke about the rezoning meetings at the county. During the Feb. 7 meeting letters from all folks in favor of the rezoning were read. Another meeting was held on Feb. 13 where letters against the rezoning were read. The Zoning Committee will make a site visit. Then the Barron County Board of Supervisors will meet on Mar 18, 2024 for the final decision.
UPDATE: The resolution to abandon Eden Meadow Rd. in Gateshead Platt is progressing. All notices have been posted as required.The final step will be taken at the Apr 8, 2024 meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: Liquor/ beer license for Iron Restaurant, LLC was presented to the Town Board. The purchaser was Mike Gibbs, Manager , Josh Carlstrom with the agent, Amanda Toscano. Ken made the motion to approve the application as presented. This was seconded by Kory. As there was no discussion the motion passed. Ken; yes: Kory; yes:Mary, yes.
CORRESPONDENCE: Ken, Kory and Mary had no correspondence. The clerk had several items; burning ban from the county,notice from Barron County for properties which will go for sale on May 10 due to taxes not paid. Cedar Lake has only one lot in Loch Lomond Lot 12, Block 23 for $148.63. Received UDC report from Scott Schieflebein.
Gladys had no correspondence.
Mary asked if the fire ban should be placed on the website? Ken said no.
Ken would like anything from the Board to discuss at the Annual Meeting to let the clerk know by April 1st. Also, need to set the date for the White Goods pickup at the April meeting.
Ken made the motion to adjourn and pay the bills. Mary seconded and all approved. (7:02)
