January 21,2017 Caucus The caucus for the Town of Cedar Lake was held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Cedar Lake Town Hall in Mikana at 10 AM. Chairman, Jon Sleik, opened the meeting explaining the purpose of the meeting which is to nominate persons for the
Town Board for the Election to be held on April 4, 2017. meeting was then turned over to Ken George and John Brunclik to chair. Ken thanked Jon and welcomed all. (60) He stated the procedure to be followed with no other business to be conducted at this meeting. Nominations were opened for the Chairman, currently held by Jon Sleik. Mark Pagenkorfp made the motion to nominate Ken Leners for this position. This was seconded by Jeff Krueger. Dave Dhein nominated Jon Sleik and this was seconded by Louie Okey. As there were no further nominations a motion to close the nominations was made by JB Bolles and seconded by Duke Dahl.
Nominations were then opened for the position of Supervisor held by Duke Dahl. Louie Okey nominated Roger Menk. This was seconded by Dave Peters. Gary Garbe than made a motion to nominate Tony Wolff. This was seconded by Cathy Hatfield. Motion to close the nominations was Jeff Krueger and seconded by Sue Sleik. Nominations were then opened for position of supervisor now held by Kory Weiss. Louie Okey made the motion to nominate Kory Weiss for this position. This was seconded by Ken Leners. As there were no more nominations a motion was made to close the nominations. This was seconded by Amy Okey. Nominations were then opened for the position of Town Clerk which is held by Maryhelen Drew. Cathy Hatfield nominated Maryhelen Drew. This was seconded by Tony Wolff. As there were no further nominations, a motion to close was made by Mike Wolff and seconded by Gladys Roux. The nominations for Treasurer now held by Gladys Roux were then opened. Wally Wolff nominated Gladys Roux. This was seconded by JB Bolles. As there were no further nominations, a motion to close was made and seconded by Sue Sleik. Other business before closing is to nominate persons for the caucus committee for 2019. Jon nominated Ken George and John Brunclik. This was seconded by Robin Carlson. Tony Wolff asked for a round of applause for 20 years of service Duke Dahl has give to our Township. He has shown extreme dedication. Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Robin Carlson and seconded by Duke Dahl.
