Town Special Meetings August 16, 22 2018

AUGUST 16, 2018   SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting was called to order on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 at 8:00 AM for the purpose of considering a setback to the road at 2639 27 ¼-27 ¾ St for Timothy and Cora Franks.  Present were Kory Weiss, Tony Wolff, Supervisors and Maryhelen Drew, Clerk. They are adding on 28 x 28 to the north, so would like to request a variance to the road setback. There are no objections to this variance.  Kory made the motion to allow the setback variance. This was second by Tony and all approved. Kory made the motion to adjourn the meeting.  Tony seconded and all approved. AUGUST 22, 2018           SPECIAL MEETING The Town Board met at the Cedar Lake Town Hall on Wed, Aug. 22, 2018 at 3:05PM to consider a written offer from the Village of Turtle Lake to purchase the squad.  Present was Ken Leners, Chairman, Kory Weiss & Tony Wolff, Supervisors and Maryhelen Drew, Clerk. Ken has a written offer from Chief Al Gabe from the Village of Turtle Lake for the complete squad for $25,000.  Discussion followed of what equipment would be included in the sale of the squad. Some of those items would include body cam, vehicle laptop, handheld radios.  The weapons, supplies, night observations items would be separate from the squad. At sometime in the future, maybe donate or sell to Barron Co. The Board discussed that $40,000 had been borrowed for the purchase of the new squad, with $25,682 owed after the trade-in plus the dog accessories. Ken will contact Dairy State Bank in regard to payoff for that loan.  Dan, at Clifton, Larson, Allen, will be notified of this transaction. Ken made the motion to accept the bid of $25,000 for the squad  and the items which need to stay with the squad from the Village of Turtle Lake.  Tony seconded. Roll call vote: Ken, Yea: Tony, Yea: Kory, Yea. Ken will contact Chief Gabe to set up the time and location for pickup of the squad. Ken will also call Dairy State Bank in regard to pay off on the squad. Ken made the motion to adjourn.  This was seconded by Kory and approved by all. (3:20)]]>
