Road ban announcement 4-20-21
The Town of Cedar Lake will be lifting the remaining road bans as of MONDAY 04/26/2021. The Town of Birchwood will also be lifting their bans as well. Thank You, Scott Walters Patrolman / Town of Cedar Lake
White goods pick-up date announced for 6-26-2021 from 10am to 2:00pm
Once a year, usually in June, there will be dumpsters available at the town shop in order for town residents to properly dispose of white goods. Examples of items accepted are: washing machines and dryers, refrigerators, water heaters, stoves, etc. Examples of E-Goods accepted are:computers, printers, copies, electronics, etc. Items not accepted: Tires, batteries, Liquids For information on how to recycle and where click below: Barron County Recycle Information
Road Bans Announcement
The Town of Cedar Lake roads South of CTY V, West of Red Cedar Lake and Hemlock Lake with the exception of Swamp Road will be relieved of seasonal weight ban On Monday, April 19,2021. Please see attached map. The opening of the remaining roads will depend upon weather conditions and The Town of Birchwood opening their bordering roads. Attention – Address Changes
Attention Village of Mikana Residents & Landowners Unfortunately, the US Postal Office in Mikana has been closed. This has resulted in all addresses in the Village of Mikana to change from a P.O. Box to a physical address or new P.O. Box location for the residents. The Town of Cedar Lake needs to update addresses for Voter Registration and Property Tax Statements. This must be complete by mid-September to ensure all are eligible to vote in November. Please contact the Town Clerk, Maryhelen Drew, to update your address. Notice of road closure, Lemler Lane, (25 1/2 Ave) August 25,26 for culvert work.
Lemler Lane will be closed to thru traffic between fire numbers 2859 and 2861 in order to replace a culvert. This work will take place August 25th and 26th. Please take other routes until the work is done. A map is available below.

Patriotism Parades through streets of Mikana, July 4th 2020.
Despite the biggest little parade being canceled this year, The Town of Cedar Lake Patriots of all ages showed up to wave the American flag in tribute to Independents day and became the parade.
Town Road Bridge Decks repairs begin.
Starting In June, all of the town bridge decks will be getting a much needed repair. If one is on your regular route, please be carful around the work that is being done or change your route to avoid them. This work will continue for the next few months depending on weather.
Road Bans lifted on all town roads.
Scott Walters, the town patrolman for Cedar Lake Township has reported that weight restricted road bans are removed from the Swamp road as of today. All Town road bans have been removed.
Notice to Mikana Resident who’s property connects with alleys.
Any Mikana Resident who owns property that connects with an alley, please plan to attend town meetings for discussion of whether or not the Town should turn over alleys to home owners.
Street delivery of mail coming to Mikana
According to the Birchwood postmaster, the post office has decided to provide home delivery of mail that previously had gone through the Mikana Post office. All those who had box numbers in Mikana will have to have a mailbox installed at their home in oder to have your mail delivered. This won't happen until at least spring because of snow and frost in the ground. In the mean time you will continue to receive your mail from the Birchwood Post Office. Contact the Birchwood Post Office if you have any further questions.

Town of Cedar Lake 2019 Year in Review 2019 accomplishments. The Town Board continued to focus on essential objectives to: (1) control township spending; (2) improve communication between the town board and constituents; and (3) ensure public safety, road maintenance, and quality of life activities remained top priorities. Controlled township spending. The Town of Cedar Lake's local tax levy will decrease (- 1.32%) for the third consecutive year in 2020 due to the board's responsible management of taxpayer dollars. The continuation of a detailed Capital Improvement Plan (CIP ), along with life-cycle management of township assets, has enabled the board to invest tax dollars in a responsible manner.
